Zorrilla presents an auction for an important succession of a Uruguayan collector

As Pablo Pinyero says in his article on this same auction, the auction house and Uruguayan antiquarian Zorrilla Subastas presents two new sessions at its headquarters in Montevideo on November 30 and December 1. This is an important succession with more than five hundred lots of different categories. The pieces have a great quality and you can find the most special pieces for the European market here. We begin with the sculptural section, where we find a pair of Chinese sculptures representing two Fo dogs on a pedestal. They are made of veined stone in brown and black, carved, with wooden bases. They measure 24 x 13.5 x 9 cm. They will go to auction for $ 2,000 (see). He is accompanied by a Maternity, in bronze with dark patina, made by Eduardo Díaz Yepes that is signed at the base. It measures 55 cm high. It will be auctioned for $ 1,500 (see).

 

 

As for the furniture, we see a large chandelier of eighteen lights on two levels. Presents leaves as decoration, made in chiselled bronze, and caireles in the shape of fruits and facetadas drop type. It measures 130 x 105 cm. It will be auctioned for $ 5,000 (see). It is accompanied by a table of Portuguese arrimo that belongs to the time of Joao V (18th century). It is made of tarred jacaranda wood, with a carved front and two drawers with bronze handles chiselled in vines. It measures 82 x 117 x 65 cm, and will be auctioned for $ 5,000 (see).

 

 

We get fully into the pictorial. The work La Posta (70 x 100 cm) by Pedro Figari (1861 – 1938) stands out. It is a work that belonged to Enrique Larreta (1875 – 1961), Argentine writer and diplomat who acquired it directly from Figari himself. It is certified by Mr. Fernando Saavedra Faget. It goes to auction for $ 100,000 (see). Baldomero Galofre y Jiménez highlights Mercado (24 x 35 cm), a small work of oil on canvas that goes on auction for $ 1,500 (see).

 

 

We close this article with two very special lots. The first is a watercolor on paper, Interior of ranch with gaucho, china, boy and dog, by Juan León Palliere.
